National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana showcased NorDan Solar at the 2016 MOS

MOS is one of the largest and most important trade fair events in Slovenia with 1 500 exhibitors from 35 countries and more than 125 000 visitors. A new feature this year was a Crossroads of Science and Economy, supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport. This special part of the exhibition promoted cutting-edge technologies and new technological innovations and processes. National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana was one of several scientific institutions present at the stand. The institute has developed a special kind of color painting, TISS coatings, that will improve both efficiency and aesthetics of a solar collector. The NorDan Solar concept with solar collectors integrated in traditional window frames was used to illustrate state of the art solar collector solutions.

AventaSolar solar collector undergoing testing for verification of expected lifespan

Aventa recently visited the German research institute for solar energy - Fraunhofer ISE, in Freiburg - where our solar collectors have been a part of the experimental set-up  for several years. The solar collectors are primarily undergoing accelerated aging tests, which will determine their lifespan under various conditions. Ad hoc testing of the collectors is also being carried as part of our product development programme.

Demonstration of Aventa Solar Technology in Copenhagen

Planning of pilot projects was on the agenda when the partners in the Nordic Built project “Active Roofs and Facades in Sustainable Renovation” met in Malmö recently. The goal is to show solutions for sustainable renovation that are possible to integrate in existing buildings with respect to both architecture, comfort and energy efficiency. The Aventa technology will be used at a demo-site at the Technological Institute near Copenhagen and most likely will also a CO2 neutral kindergarden In Copenhagen be equipped with building integrated solar collectors from Aventa.

BioSol – 100% renewable heating

BioSol represents a new concept for heat transfer from a stove into a water-based heating system, which combines high efficiency and negligible risks. A solar system is directly coupled to the heating system. The energy demand for space heating and hot water preparation can thereby be 100% covered by renewable energy in terms of firewood and solar energy.

Aventa part of IEA-SHC Task 54 - Price Reduction of Solar Thermal Systems

This Task aims at the purchase price reduction for end-users of installed solar thermal systems by evaluating and developing sustainable means to reduce production and/or installation costs on material, sub-component, system-component and system level. Special emphasis is placed on the identification and reduction of post-production cost drivers. Additionally, ways to make solar thermal more attractive by improved marketing and consumer-oriented design will be explored.

Solar experts impressed by the Stenbraatlia housing estate - 34 terraced houses with integrated polymer solar collectors

Earlier this month Aventa invited a group of European solar experts to visit Stenbraatlia housing estate, where the Norwegian building association OBOS has built thirty-four terraced houses equipped with roof-integrated polymer solar collectors.

“This housing estate represents the future of sustainable building projects, in which solar collectors merge with the building envelope, offering not only energetic advantages but visual appeal as well”, says Hans Dahl, the company's architect, who participated at the technical tour together with project leader Egil Wahl.

Aventa has completed the new automated production line for AventaSolar solar collectors

Solar energy company Aventa AS has invested in a brand new state of the art production line for its solar collectors. The production system has been produced by FILL in Austria, a leading plant manufacturer for diverse branches of industry. The new system automatizes essential parts of the production process for Aventa, reproducibly secures a high part quality level, as well as an annual capacity for 40 000 m2 solar collectors per shift. Innovation Norway has provided a loan for part of the investment.

AVENTA launches a high performance polymer solar collector

A collaboration between Chevron Phillips Chemicals International NV (Chevron Phillips Chemicals) and Aventa AS has resulted in a high temperature polymer collector, which is ready to be introduced to the global solar thermal market. The two companies have recently signed an agreement formalizing technical and commercial cooperation.
